BDS (U.Wales) Dip Sed (U. Guys)
Principal Dental Surgeon
I trained at University College of Medicine and Dentistry in Wales, based in Cardiff. I qualified in 1975 and moved to Basingstoke where I worked as an Associate. In 1979 I took over the Practice and started as a single practitioner. Within 18 months the practice grew to 3 Associates and a Hygienist. As new housing development started in Chineham in 1980’s I built the Practice at Chineham in 1986, where I now work with my team and developing and enhancing the Practice. I developed a keen interest in restorative dentistry and to this end have completed Diploma’s in Orthodontics & Sedation with a further post graduate in Implant dentistry and Endodontics.
I am a member of the British Endodontic Society, SAAD, Dental Sedation Teachers Group, Association of Implantology, Dental Society of London & The Fellowship Society of London.

BDS: B.Sc. (Hons.) (London)
I qualified at King’s College Hospital, London in 1980 having previously studied for a B.Sc. in Physiology. I joined Chineham Dental Practice in 1993 after a career break during which time I had three children.
I work in all areas of general dental surgery and take particular satisfaction in managing the anxious patients. Helping people cope with and complete the care they need is very rewarding. Away from the surgery my husband and I have spent several years restoring a Devonshire cottage dating from the 1600s.
Now that the family has grown up (one daughter is a dentist, one a midwife and my son a chef) there is more time to enjoy weekends at the coast.
Alison has started her maternity leave and the team wish her all the very best. We are looking forward to the news of the baby. Alison hopes to return to work in September 2018.
I joined Chineham Dental Practice in September 2012 as an associate, providing NHS and private dentistry. I qualified from Bristol in 2008 and since graduating I have worked both in dental practices and also in hospital’s.
A maxillofacial post in a hospital provided me with invaluable experience in both oral surgery and oral medicine. I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry, particularly helping anxious patients feel at ease. My love of travel has led me to spend time practising dentistry in Australia.
Away from the surgery I enjoy fitness and I spend a lot of my time on my mountain bike enjoying the beautiful countryside this area has to offer.
I joined Chineham Dental in September 2015 as an associate, providing NHS and private dental care. I qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2014 and am a committee member of the Reading Section of the British Dental Association. I particularly enjoy the cosmetic side of dentistry and like to help patients feel comfortable and at ease in order to make their experience at the practice as pleasant as possible. In my spare time I am a keen badminton player and enjoy playing the piano.
I joined Mr Laljee as the practice Hygienist in 2010 and I have been in dentistry since 2002 starting as a dental nurse and progressing to become Dental Hygienist. I trained at Cardiff University and gained a merit in HE Dip in Dental Hygiene in 2010. My experiences in dentistry have enabled me to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere during hygiene treatment.
My keen, but appropriate sense of humour allows my patients to be more at ease. I strive to ensure any treatment is as pain free as possible and provide quality treatment. During my spare time, I am a member of a Performing Arts Company where I sing and dance. I enjoy spending time with family.
MChD/BChD (Hons), BSc
I joined Chineham Dental Practice as an associate in September 2017 after completing my Foundation Training within the Oxfordshire Deanery. I qualified from the University of Leeds in 2016 and since have accustomed myself with General Dental Practice, providing both NHS and Private care to patients.
I am a member of several internationally renowned institutions, including the British Dental Association in Reading, the British Society of Restorative Dentistry and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I particularly enjoy the cosmetic aspect of dentistry, focussing on ensuring patients have both a pleasant and enjoyable experience.
Outside of Dentistry, I am a passionate cricketer and enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Operational & Financial Management
I am very occasionally seen or heard by patients. Hence referred to as back office and located as such! I joined my brother Dr Laljee to cope with the new dental contract in late 2005. This involved negotiating with the Local Primary Care Trust (PCT) and enhancing our IT capability to respond to the requirements of the new contract. A short term assignment has turned into an on-going assignment as dentists are being required to continue to provide quality care with enormous amount of regulation and bureaucracy.
I endeavour to bring best practices to the business, so as we can deliver better oral health to our patients effectively and in a professional, friendly environment through a motivated well trained team.I am an outdoor person who loves gardening and all sorts of sports, though watching is all I can manage now. I am married and have three daughters aged between 25 and 30, so retirement is not in sight!
