Consultant in Sedation and Special Care Dentisty

Najla is a consultant in Special Care Dentistry and has been an integral member of staff at the Department of Sedation and Special Care Dentistry at Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust since 2007.

Najla has a vast amount of experience in teaching and treating anxious/phobic patients under advanced Sedation techniques in both General Dental Practice and Hospital settings. Najla’s areas of interest and expertise are in treating patients with basic and advanced conscious sedation techniques, managing the dental care of patients with haematological disorders and challenging medical problems or disabilities.

Away from General Practice, Najla was the course organiser for the undergraduate Sedation and Special Care Dentistry course for 10 years and she supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Najla also carries out research related to Sedation and Special Care Dentistry and supervises students through their research projects as she teaches on the faculty for SAAD (Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry).
 

Away from Dentistry, Najla enjoys spending time with her family and friends!
